PDF File Display, Crash, Blank Pages or Print Problems

Your Web Browser (Microsoft's Internet Explorer is the main culprit) is not configured properly to display PDF files. At AirlineInfo we like to use Mozilla's Firefox - http://www.mozilla.com

Ideally, you want the PDF file to load within Adobe Acrobat - not the Web browser. Large PDF files require a lot of memory and loading within a Web broswer will cause all sorts of display and printing issues. We also Bookmark many of the large PDF files - which can also cause problems.

The below links will take you to Adobe's TechNote Web Site and will help you configure your web browser:

Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files (Acrobat 7.0, Acrobat 3D, Adobe Reader 7.0 on Windows) - TechNote from Adobe's Web Site

Configure Firefox and Mozilla to display PDF files (Acrobat 8.0, Adobe Reader 8.0 on Windows) - TechNote from Adobe's Web Site

Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files for Acrobat and Adobe Reader (8.0 and 3D 8 on Windows) - TechNote from Adobe's Web Site

Downloading a PDF file to your hard drive

You can download a PDF file to the hard drive from a Web page's link. Downloading PDF files doesn't require the ActiveX plug-in file to be installed. (If you want to open and view the PDF file after downloading it, you must have Acrobat, Adobe Reader, or Acrobat Reader installed.)

To download a PDF file from a link:
1. Right-click the link to a PDF file, and then choose Save Target As from the pop-up menu.
2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard drive, and then click Save.
