FAA 30190 October 17, 2000 Re:  Request for Department to Proceed  Reagan National- Kansas City, Mo (Exemption 4982)
Letter in Support:  Gov. Mel Carnahan
Letter in Support:  Sen. Tom Harkin and Sen. Charles Grassley

This letter is in further regard to the request of Midwest Express Airlines filed by the undersigned for assignment to Midwest Express of exemption slot 1497.  The time for filing comments to the pending Midwest Express petition for exemption has now passed and no person submitted comments in public docket no. 30190. Accordingly, Midwest Express respectfully requests the FAA proceed to issue its decision in this matter by granting the unopposed relief sought by Midwest Express.

In this connection, and to facilitate the FAA's slot administrative procedures, please be advised that Midwest Express proposes to commence use of slot 1497 on April 1, 2001. While Midwest Express had hoped to make earlier use of the slot, it does not project that it will be able to do so based on the lack of flight crew availability and the need to complete necessary flight crew training.

Counsel:  Silverberg Goldman, Robert Silver berg, 202.944.3300
