APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF EXEMPTION AUTHORITY

 

Pursuant to the terms of 49 U.S.C. §41301, formerly section 416(b)(1) of the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, as amended, and the Economic Regulations of the Department of Transportation, Transportes Aereos Ejecutivos, S.A. de C.V. ("TAESA") hereby applies for renewal of its exemption authority to provide foreign scheduled transportation of property and mail on the scheduled all-cargo route Cancun, Mexico - Miami, FL.

 

In support of this application, TAESA states as follows:

 

1. By a Notice of Action Taken dated September 16, 1996, TAESA was granted scheduled all-cargo exemption authority for one (1) year on the route described above. This authority expires on September 16, 1997. 1/ TAESA therefore requests that its authority to

 


1/ Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. §558(c), as implemented by Part 377 of the Department s Regulations, TAESA requests that the authority granted by the September 16, 1996 Notice of Action Taken indicated above remain in force until the disposition of this renewal application.

conduct schedule all-cargo service on this route be extended by a further year until September 16, 1998.

 

2. TAESA has successfully been operating Mexico-U.S. scheduled services utilizing modern fuel-efficient equipment on a variety of authorized routes since April 1991. TAESA continues to be fit, willing, and able to operate the scheduled service referred to herein.

 

WHEREFORE, Transportes Aereos Ejecutivos, S.A. de C.V. respectfully requests that the Department renew its exemption authority to the extent necessary to enable it to continue to provide scheduled transportation of property and mail on the scheduled route Cancun, Mexico-Miami, FL. In the alternative, TAESA requests such other, further or different relief as the Department may deem necessary and proper.
