|
OST-2008-0051 - Statements of Authorization - Intra-Australia Codesharing January 31, 2008 Application for an Exemption and Statement of Authorization Virgin Blue hereby applies for an exemption and Statement of Authorization that would permit Virgin Blue to display the "VA" designator code of V Australia on intra-Australia flights operated by Virgin Blue between points in Australia, so that V Australia, an applicant for authority to offer U.S.-Australia scheduled service, may hold out service to and from the United States from points in Australia beyond and behind its Australia gateways as soon as its DOT authority is issued. See Application of Virgin Blue International Airlines Pty. Ltd. dated July 6, 2007 in Docket No. OST-2007-28705. The carrier later amended its application to request that the authority be issued as Virgin Blue International Airlines Pty. Limited d/b/a V Australia. Ownership of Virgin Blue has changed since the Department approved the Virgin Blue-United code-share arrangement. The parent company of Virgin Blue remains Virgin Blue Holdings. Counsel: Holland & Knight, Anita Mosner, 202-419-2604, anita.mosner@hklaw.com February 5, 2008 Virgin Blue Airlines Pty. Ltd. hereby withdraws the application dated January 31, 2008, which was filed in the above-captioned docket, on the grounds that the Department has disclaimed jurisdiction over services of this type.
