Application for Exemption Authority

Saudi Arabian Airlines hereby applies for exemption authority to conduct scheduled foreign air transportation of property and mail commencing October 1, 2007, on the following route:

Jeddah-Brussels-New York (JFK)-Houston-Brussels -Jeddah

Saudia respectfully requests that this renewal application be granted as soon as possible and that the renewal remain in effect for a period of at least one year.

Answer of The City of Houston and The Greater Houston Partnership

Saudia already serves Houston, and its services are an important component of the City’s air transportation network with Saudi Arabia and other destinations in the Middle East. The authority sought would provide Saudia with the additional flexibility it needs in order to satisfy market demands, and the authority requested is consistent with the current bilateral U.S.-Saudi Arabia air transport agreement. The Houston Parties strongly support Saudia’s application, and urge that it be granted.
