Application for an Exemption

Croatia Airlines now plans to begin code-sharing with United, whereby Croatia Airlines' "OU" designator code will be initially displayed on United's flights between various points in the United States and various points in Europe. Croatia Airlines also plans to initially display United's "UA" designator code on Croatia Airlines' flights between various points in Croatia and various points in Europe. As previously stated, Croatia Airlines plans to commence its code-share operations with United as soon as all governmental approvals have been made effective.

Croatia Airlines, contemporaneously with the filing of this exemption application, has submitted to the Department an application for a foreign air carrier permit authorizing it to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail from points behind Croatia, via Croatia and any intermediate points, to any point or points in the United States and beyond, as well as authority to operate charters pursuant to 14 C.F.R. Part 212. Croatia Airlines hereby incorporates by reference all of the information contained in, and the exhibit materials submitted in conjunction with, the abovereferenced application for a foreign air carrier permit. Furthermore, Croatia Airlines requests that the Department review these applications under its streamlined regulatory procedures announced on August 23, 2005 (Docket OST-2005-22228).
