Application for an Exemption

Frontier hereby applies for an exemption authorizing Frontier to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Milwauke, Wisconsin and Cancun, Mexico.

Frontier proposes to initiate the service on December 15, 2007. The service will not be operated between July 2008 and November 2008. The schedule would be as follows: from December 15, 2007 through January 6, 2008 it would operate on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, from January 7, 2008 through February 12, 2008 it will operate on Saturday, from February 13, 2008 through April 6, 2008 on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, from April 7, 2008 though August 14, 2008 on Saturday, and from November 15, 2008 through April 14, 2009 on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Cancun is among the points in Mexico that up to three carriers of each country may be designated to serve from any given US gateway. Northwest is the only carrier currently designated for the Milwaukee-Cancun route. Thus, two unused designations are available for the route.

We have polled the U.S. carrier representatives served with the above-referenced application, and no carrier has objected to Frontier's request for an exemption. Frontier asks that the Department grant the exemption authority as soon as possible.
