Application for Exemption and Allocation of Frequencies

American Airlines, Inc., under 49 USC 40109, hereby applies for an exemption to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Chicago, Illinois and Buenos Aires, Argentina. American also applies for the allocation of seven weekly U.S.-Argentina combination frequencies.

As shown by the attached illustrative data, American seeks to begin daily nonstop service in the Chicago-Buenos Aires market on October 28, 2007, using 219-seat B767-300ER aircraft (30C/189Y). American's service will provide significant public benefits for local Chicago-Buenos Aires passengers as well as for passengers from scores of beyond cities with convenient on-line connections at American's Chicago hub.

American requests expedited approval of this application so that we may begin promotional and sales activities as soon as possible in order to ensure a successful start-up of daily nonstop service in the Chicago-Buenos Aires market on October 28, 2007.
