Alaska Airlines, Inc. OST-2007-27733 - Exemption - US-El Salvador Codeshare with American Airlines March 23, 2007 Alaska Airlines, Inc. hereby requests an exemption from 49 U.S.C. 41101 and, to the extent necessary, from the Department’s regulations to permit Alaska to engage in the scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail from points behind the United States via the United States and intermediate points to a point or points in El Salvador and beyond., pursuant to Alaska’s codeshare agreement with American Airlines, Inc. Alaska requests that this exemption be granted for at least a two-year period. Alaska intends to begin codeshare service with American between Los Angeles and San Salvador in late April 2007 and requests prompt approval so that marketing and selling can begin without delay. March 27, 2007 I am writing to advise the Department of Transportation that Alaska Airlines has completed its telephone poll of all persons served with the application in the captioned docket. Alaska has been informed that no person intends to comment on Alaska's application. Alaska therefore requests that the Department grant prompt approval to Alaska's pending exemption application.
