Continental Airlines, Inc. OST-2007-26949 - Exemption - New York/Newark-Athens January 16, 2007 Continental applies for an exemption authorizing Continental to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between New York/Newark and Athens, Greece. Continental asks that this authority become effective as soon as possible for a period of at least two years. Continental intends to institute daily nonstop New York/Newark-Athens B-767 service on May 3, 2007, and to operate five weekly nonstop B-767 flights during the shoulder season and four weekly flights during the winter. Continental asks that the Department grant it exemption authority on an expedited basis to enable Continental to seek foreign authority and engage in advance sales and marketing activities. January 17, 2007 Continental has received non-objections from the carriers served with its January 16, 2007 exemption application for New York/Newark-Athens authority. Continental would greatly appreciate prompt award of this authority so Continental can secure foreign authority and make the necessary arrangements to institute this new service on May 3, 2007.
