Avior Airlines, C.A. OST-2006-25982 - Foreign Air Carrier Permit - US-Venezuela September 28, 2006 Application for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit - Bookmarked The full name of the applicant is Avior Airlines, C.A. Avior was previously granted an exemption by the Department in 2001 for charter foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail issued in the name of Aviones de Oriente, Avior, C.A. (Docket OST-2001-8605) On January 10, 2006, subsequent to the issuance of its exemption Aviones de Oriente changed its name to "Avior Airlines, C.A." pursuant to the laws of Venezuela. Avior requests a foreign air carrier permit in order to engage in (i) scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between any point or points in Venezuela (except Maracaibo) on the one hand and Miami, Florida, on the other hand and (ii) charter foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between any point or points in Venezuela, on the one hand, and any point or points in the United States, on the other hand, either directly or via intermediate points in other countries, with or without stopovers, and beyond and any other charters pursuant to Part 212 of the Department's regulations, as necessary. For its proposed services to the U.S., Avior intends to operate Boeing 737-200 aircraft using its own pilots and cabin crewmembers. Avior proposes to commence scheduled combination service to the U.S. between Barcelona, Venezuela and Miami, Florida. Service will be operated five times weekly.
