OST-2006-25016 - Statement of Authorization - Qatar-US Mail Codeshare with United Air Lines

June 6, 2006

Application for a Statement of Authorization

Qatar Airways hereby applies for a statement of authorization pursuant to 14 CFR § 212 in order to display the United Airlines “UA” designator code for the transportation of US mail on scheduled Qatar Airways flights between various Qatar Airways gateways in Europe and Asia, on the one hand, and Doha, on the other, and beyond to Bahrain pursuant to a code sharing agreement with United. Under this arrangement, United will transport the mail in question on its own flights between points in the United States and various international points, at which point the mail will be tendered to Qatar Airways and flown to its final destination.

Qatar Airways initially plans to carry US mail tendered by United at Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Paris to Doha and beyond to Bahrain. Qatar Airways and United may in the future opt to cooperate at other international gateways as circumstances warrant.
