Application for an Exemption

By this application, Aeromexico seeks an exemption to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Durango, Mexico and Los Angeles, California. Aeromexico proposes to offer two nonstop round trips per week in this market, utilizing B-737-700 or other appropriate aircraft. The proposed nonstop services will generate significant benefits for the traveling and shipping public.

Application for Renewal of an Exemption

By this application, Aeromexico seeks renewal of its exemption to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Durango, Mexico, and Los Angeles, California. The authority is scheduled to expire on May 1, 2007. Although Aeromexico currently is serving this market via connections, it anticipates providing nonstop service when warranted by traffic conditions. Consequently, it would like to renew the authority for an additional year.

By Notice of Action Taken dated May 29, 2007, in the above-referenced docket, the Department granted exemption authority to Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. to engage in foreign air transportation between Durango, Mexico, and Los Angeles, California. The exemption is to expire on May 29, 2008. Please be advised that Aeromexico does not intend to seek renewal of this exemption authority.
