Filed February 27, 2006 | Approved May 18, 2006 Department Action on Application
The "UA" designator code will not be displayed on aircraft operated by TACA Group other than TACA or LACSA until each such carrier applies for and receives a statement of authorization from the Department. The joint applicants note that LACSA expects to shortly begin use of the “TA” code, at which time it will cease using the “LR’ code on its flights to the United States. Until then, United will display the “LR’ code for LACSA and the “TA” common code for other TACA Group carriers on the United-operated flights described herein. The joint applicants state that “Central America,” for purposes of these statements of authorization, includes El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica (homelands of the TACA Group carriers), but does not include Panama or Belize, which would be served as beyond or intermediate third-country points.
