Hawaiian Island Air, Inc. d/b/a Island Air Order 2006-2-8 Issued and Served February 9, 2006 By Order 2006-1-20, issued January 25, 2006, we directed all interested persons to show cause why we should not make final our tentative findings and conclusions stated in it and award a certificate of public convenience and necessity to Hawaii Island Air, Inc. d/b/a Island Air authorizing it to engage in interstate scheduled air transportation of persons, property, and mail. No objections to the show-cause order were received. We issue a certificate of public convenience and necessity to Hawaii Island Air, Inc. d/b/a Island Air to engage in interstate air transportation in the form and subject to the Terms, Conditions, and Limitations attached. We direct that should Hawaii Island Air, Inc. d/b/a Island Air propose to conduct operations with more than two large aircraft, it must first notify the Department in writing at least 45 days prior to the proposed change in operations and demonstrate its fitness to conduct such operations before their commencement. Section 298.2(h) of our rules defines “large aircraft” as any aircraft designed to have a maximum capacity of more than 60 passenger seats or a maximum payload capacity of more than 18,000 pounds.
