Application for an Exemption

American Airlines, Inc., under 49 USC 40109, hereby applies for an exemption authorizing scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between points in the United States and points in the United Kingdom (excluding London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports), with the right to integrate such authority with American's certificates and other exemptions.

Application for Renewal of Exemption

American Airlines, Inc., under 49 USC 40109, hereby applies for renewal of its exemption, initially granted by Notice of Action Taken in this docket on September 15, 2005, authorizing scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between points in the United States and points in the United Kingdom (excluding London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports).

By Order 2007-4-2, April 3, 2007, the Department granted certificate authority to American under the U.S.-EU open skies agreement effective March 30, 2008. When that certificate takes effect, American will no longer need the U.S.-U.K. exemption authority at issue here.
