March 3, 2005 Application for Exemption Authority China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited , in accordance with the provisions of Section 416 of the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, as amended, and the Economic Regulations of the Department (14 C.F.R. § 302.301 et seq.), hereby applies for exemption authority, to the extent the Department deems it necessary, to conduct daily scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Shenyang (SHE) and Shenzhen (SZX), People’s Republic of China, respectively, on the one hand, and Los Angeles (LAX), California, on the other. The flights would all operate via Shanghai (PVG):
China Eastern intends to initiate the daily Shenyang service on March 27, 2005 and the daily Shenzhen service on April 15, 2005. China Eastern is, concurrently with the filing of this Application, filing a Motion to Shorten Answer Period for this Exemption Application. Counsel: Condon & Forsyth, Evelyn Sahr, 202-289-0500
