Transatlantic, Transpacific and Latin American Service Mail Rates Investigation

Order 2005-03-20
OST-96-1629 - Transatlantic, Transpacific and Latin American Service Mail Rates Investigation

Issued and Served March 15, 2005

Order to Show Cause Establishing New International Mail Rates and Requesting Comments Based on Rate Investigation

By this order, the Department directs the parties to show cause why we should not terminate the rates currently in effect and establish the mail rates outlined in Appendix A while we review the need for an international base rate investigation. We are also requesting comments on whether the Department should institute a new international base-rate investigation, and, if so, what rate-making methods should be considered, and what procedures should be used.

For comparison purposes only, the table below shows a summary of tentatively proposed and current rates, reflecting space-available and daylight container mail only.
