Re: Lyden Air Freight Letter in Support of UPS

As a freight forwarder, LAF depends on the service of direct air carriers like UPS to transport its freight. As an indirect carrier, LAF is responsible for the logistics for arranging the transportation of a wide variety of shipments: primarily large consolidated, palletized and containerized shipments but also shipments of smaller packages. We arrange a significant amount of transportation between the U.S. and China.

There is a capacity constraint in the U.S.‑China cargo market, especially affecting large shipments moving eastbound from China to the U. S. The additional frequencies that the U.S. has obtained create an opportunity for badly needed new service by U.S. carriers that have the capacity to carry heavy cargo. Much of the traffic that we handle moves in large containers that can only be transported in the main deck of a freighter.
