America West Airlines, Inc. / Virgin Atlantic Airways, Limited OST-04-18177 - Statement of Authorization - US-UK Codeshare June 14, 2004 Applications of America West and Virgin Atlantic America West Airlines, Inc. and Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited have entered a codeshare agreement (the "Codeshare Agreement," with sensitive commercial information redacted, is attached as Exhibit A) under which the parties have agreed that Virgin Atlantic will place its "VS" designator code on flights operated by America West in certain U.S. domestic markets. Initially, America West and Virgin Atlantic plan to implement these authorities by placing the VS code on America West flights in the following eight markets:

Statement of authorization under 14 CFR Part 212 to the extent necessary to permit America West Airlines, Inc. to display the designator code of Virgin Atlantic Airways, Limited ("VS") on flights operated by America West between points in the United States. By: Paul Gretch OST-2004-18178 - Exemption - UK-US Codeshare with America West July 13, 2006 Application for Renewal of an Exemption By Notice of Action Taken dated July 29, 2004, the Department granted to Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited an exemption which enables it to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between any point or points in the United Kingdom and a point or points in the United States via Virgin Atlantic’s authorized U.S. gateways, directly or via intermediate points, and beyond the United States to any point or points in third countries. This authority was requested so that Virgin Atlantic could implement its Codeshare Agreement with America West. The authority issued is slated to expire on July 29, 2006. Accordingly, Virgin Atlantic is submitting its request to renew this authority. Virgin Atlantic further requests any other relief that may be deemed necessary by the Department. These services will be held out to the public as soon as this thirty-day period has lapsed. Counsel: Garfinkle Wang, Anita Mosner, 703-522-0900 OST-2007-27349 - Statements of Authorization - US Domestic Codesharing February 16, 2007 Applications for Statements of Authorization - Bookmarked US Airways, Inc., America West Airlines, Inc., and Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited have amended the previously approved code-share agreement between America West and Virgin Atlantic to allow Virgin Atlantic to place its "VS" designator code on flights operated by both US Airways and America West in certain U.S. domestic markets. The Amended Code Share Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit 1. Accordingly, US Airways applies for issuance of a statement of authorization under 14 C.F.R. Part 212, and Virgin Atlantic applies to amend its existing Statement of Authorization and Exemption. The carriers request expedited treatment for this Application.
US Airways and Virgin Atlantic intend to begin operating the proposed code-share arrangements as early as March 3, 2007. To that end, US Airways and Virgin Atlantic will poll the U.S. carrier representatives served with this application and will notify the Department promptly of the results of this poll. US Airways and Virgin Atlantic request that the Department act upon this application as expeditiously as possible. In accordance with Rule 12, US Airways is submitting copies of the confidential documents to the Department separately in a sealed envelope bearing the caption for the cases and marked "Confidential Treatment Requested Under § 302.12." The information for which US Airways requests confidential treatment is confidential and competitively sensitive information. The public release of that information would cause US Airways substantial competitive and financial injury. Accordingly, the information should be withheld from public disclosure. US Airways is submitting in this docket copies of the code-share contracts and amendments with the confidential portions redacted. These redacted versions are being served on all persons on the attached service list.
