OST-2004-16975 - Delta and Aeromexico - Boston-Mexico City Codeshare

Delta Air Lines, Inc. and Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. OST-2004-16975 - Exemption - Boston-Mexico City January 27, 2004 Hereby apply for authority to expand their codeshare arrangement to include the display of Delta's code on flights operated by Aeromexico between Boston, Massachusetts and Mexico City, Mexico. Specifically, the Joint Applicants request the issuance of the following authorities: a) an exemption to Delta, pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 40109, authorizing Delta to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Boston, Massachusetts and Mexico City, Mexico, and to combine this exemption authority with all of Delta's existing certificate and exemption authority, consistent with applicable international agreements; and b) a statement of authorization to Aeromexico, pursuant to 14 C.F.R. Part 212, to permit Aeromexico to display Delta's "DL" designator code on flights operated by Aeromexico between Boston, Massachusetts and Mexico City, Mexico. The Joint Applicants plan to begin the proposed codeshare services on or about May 1, 2004. Accordingly, the Joint Applicants request that the exemption and statement of authorization be granted as soon as possible so that Delta has adequate time to market its new Boston-Mexico City services. Aeromexico has already received the necessary exemption authority, and plans to begin operating the service on our about February 12, 2004. OST-00-6816 - Mexico City-Chicago March 31, 2005 Application for Renewal of Exemptions This renewal application encompasses multiple docketed exemptions that Delta relies upon to provide nonstop U.S.-Mexico services either with its own aircraft or pursuant to a codeshare arrangement with Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.. The exemptions in the captioned dockets all have renewal application deadlines within the next several months. Delta requests that these exemptions be renewed for a period of at least two years, with a common expiration date, or until 90 days after the Department's final determination on Delta's application for amended certificate authority as it pertains to each of the routes identified herein, filed on November 30, 2004 in Docket OST-1999-6275, whichever occurs earlier. The establishment of a common renewal date will promote administrative efficiency and reduce the burden on Delta and the Department in maintaining these multiple and non-controversial U.S.-Mexico exemption authorities. Delta is not seeking renewal of its exemption authority for Ft. Lauderdale-Mexico City service in Docket OST-2003-15252 because that route is dormant. OST-2000-6816 - Exemption - Mexico City-Chicago April 5, 2007 Application for Renewal of Exemptions Delta Air Lines, Inc. hereby applies under 49 U.S.C. § 40109 for renewal of exemptions authorizing Delta to continue to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail on the U.S.-Mexico routes identified in Exhibit A. This renewal application encompasses multiple docketed exemptions that Delta relies upon to provide nonstop U.S. Mexico services with its own aircraft or pursuant to codeshare arrangements with Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. or Delta Connection carriers. Delta requests that these exemptions be renewed for a period of at least two years, with a common expiration date, or until 90 days after the Department's final determination on Delta's application for amended certificate authority as it pertains to each of the routes identified herein, filed on November 30, 2004, and supplemented on October 17, 2005, in Docket OST-1999-6275, whichever occurs earlier. The establishment of a common renewal date will promote administrative efficiency and reduce the burden on Delta and the Department in maintaining these multiple non-controversial U.S.-Mexico exemption authorities. Delta does not seek renewal of route integration authority included with these exemptions because such authority is now covered by its blanket route integration certificate issued by Order 2006-1-1. In certain instances, Delta holds two exemptions for a single U.S.-Mexico route: one for codesharing service and one for service with its own aircraft. Although it is Delta's understanding that a single "own aircraft" exemption would be sufficient to cover both types of service (just as a city-pair designation authorizes both own-aircraft service and codeshare service), Delta is seeking to renew potentially redundant exemption authority out of an abundance of caution. February 8, 2008 Re: Notice of Dormancy and Discontinuation of Codesharing Pursuant to the dormancy notice requirements set forth in condition 7 of Appendix A of DOT Order 1988-10-2, Delta Air Lines, Inc. hereby notifies the Department of the dormancy of its Boston, Massachusetts-Mexico City, Mexico authority. Delta also hereby notifies the Department that its "DL*" designator code will no longer be displayed on Aeromexico flights on the Boston-Mexico City route.
