Compania Mexicana de Aviacion, S.A. de C.V. OST-04-16845 - Exemption - Mexicali, Mexico-Las Vegas/Portland January 2, 2004 Mexicana requests authority from the Department to engage in scheduled combination foreign air transportation between Mexicali, Mexico and Las Vegas and Portland utilizing Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft. Attached to this application is a copy of an internal Mexican Government communication confirming Mexicana's designation for these routes, as well as for Mexicali-Oakland. Mexicana already holds permission in its foreign air carrier permit authorizing it to operate scheduled services between Mexicali and Oakland. Mexicana believes Mexicali has been approved as a last point of departure for service to the United States. Mexicana has previously operated nonstop service between Mexicali and Los Angeles and other Mexican carriers, including Aeromexico and Aerolitoral, have been authorized to operate nonstop service between Mexicali and San Diego (See, Notice of Action Taken, Docket OST-2001-10272).
