America West Airlines, Inc. OST-03-16745 - Exemption - Los Angeles-Mazatlan, Mexico Codeshare with Mesa December 18, 2003 respectfully requests an exemption effective for at least two years from 49 U.S.C. 41101 and any other relief necessary to authorize America West to display its "HP" designator code on combination flights operated by Mesa Airlines, Inc. between Los Angeles, California ("LAX") and Mazatlan, Mexico ("NUT") using a RJ Model 900, 86‑ to 96‑seat aircraft.' America West intends to begin the codeshare operations on or about June 1, 2003, and therefore respectfully requests the Department grant it an exemption effective immediately to allow the company to pursue advance marketing and sales activities. America West states that it will use the requested authority pursuant to a code-share arrangement with Mesa Airlines, Inc. (Mesa), whereby America West will place its “HP” code on flights operated by Mesa in the subject market. By: Paul Gretch OST-2003-16741 - Mesa - Exemption - Los Angeles-Mazatlan, Mexico November 8, 2005 Joint Application for Renewal of an Exemption and Codeshare Authorization America West Airlines, Inc. d/b/a US Airways and Mesa Airlines, Inc. apply for a two-year renewal of their exemption and code share authorization to engage in scheduled foreign air transport of persons, property, and mail between Los Angeles, California, and Mazatlan, Mexico. US Airways and Mesa plan to provide seasonal service between LAX and MZT from June to September. Mesa has provided continuous service on this route, using its CRJ-900 aircraft, since 2004, with America West placing its designation code on combination flights pursuant to the parties' code share agreement. America West and Mesa hereby respectfully withdraw the Joint Application. The carriers have discontinued the Los Angeles-Mazatlan service, and have decided not to renew the authority at this time.
