Application for an Exemption

Hereby applies for an exemption and, to the extent necessary, a designation in order to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail (1) from a point or points in the United States via intermediate points to a point or points in Singapore and beyond, and (2) from a point or points in the United States via intermediate points to a point or points in Thailand and beyond. US Airways also applies for route integration authority to combine this exemption authority with US Airways' other authorities.

US Airways plans to serve Singapore and Thailand from the United States pursuant to its code-share agreement with United Air Lines. US Airways requests expedited processing of this application so that it can begin marketing the codeshare services proposed herein as soon as possible. US Airways plans to code-share on scheduled United services between the United States, on the one hand, and Thailand (Bangkok) and Singapore, on the other hand, specifically on United's one-stop services in these markets over Tokyo, Japan.' US Airways may, in the future, code-share on other U.S.-Thailand and U.S.-Singapore services by United as opportunities present themselves.

Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail (1) between a point or points in the United States, via any intermediate points, and a point or points in Singapore and beyond, and (2) between a point or points in the United States, via any intermediate points, and a point or points in Thailand and beyond, and to integrate this authority with its existing certificate and exemption authority.  US Airways intends to operate this service pursuant to a code-share arrangement with United Air Lines.

US Airways, Inc. applies for renewal of (i) its exemption authority to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between a point or points in the United States, via any intermediate points, to any point or points in Singapore and beyond, (ii) its exemption authority to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between a point or points in the United States, via intermediate points, to any point or points in Thailand and beyond, and (iii) the corresponding route integration authorities.
