Continental Airlines, Inc. OST-2003-16302 - Exemption - Houston-Manzanillo October 8, 2003 Continental intends to institute Houston-Manzanillo seasonal service starting in March 2004 with B-737 or B-757 aircraft. Continental Express is currently providing Houston-Manzanillo service with 50-seat Embraer aircraft, and will continue to do so on a seasonal basis. Continental asks that the Department grant it exemption authority on an expedited basis to enable Continental to seek foreign authority and engage in advance sales and marketing activities. October 10, 2003 Continental has polled all airlines served with its October 8, 2003 application for Houston-Manzanillo exemption authority and has received non-objections from all carriers. Since Continental plans to begin selling this seasonal service starting as soon as possible, prompt action granting this application and designating Continental for such service would be greatly appreciated. Continental states that it will provide this service on a seasonal basis, beginning March 2004. Continental states that it will combine this seasonal large-aircraft service with small-aircraft service currently being operated by ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. d/b/a Continental Express to provide year-round service in the market. September 1, 2005 Continental applies pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 40109 and Subpart C of the Department's Rules of Practice for renewal of its exemption from 49 U.S.C. § 41101 authorizing Continental to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail, on a seasonal basis, between Houston and Manzanillo, Mexico, and its authority to integrate this authority with Continental's other exemption and certificate authority. Continental asks the Department to renew this authority effective until the Department acts on Continental's application for an amendment to its certificate for Route 561 to incorporate Houston-Manzanillo authority. August 1, 2007 Continental applies for renewal of its exemption from 49 U.S.C. 41101 authorizing Continental to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, I property and mail, on a seasonal basis, between Houston and Manzanillo, Mexico. Continental asks the Department to renew this authority effective until the Department acts on Continental's application for amendment number one to its certificate for Route 561 to incorporate Houston-Manzanillo authority. Continental states as follows in support of its application for renewal of its authority to serve Houston-Manzanillo, Mexico on a seasonal basis. Continental was originally granted exemption authority to engage in air transportation between Houston and Manzanillo, Mexico on a seasonal basis and related route integration authority by Notice of Action Taken, November 5, 2003, most recently renewed by Notice of Action Taken, October 4, 2005, in this docket. OST-2003-16302 - Exemption - Houston-Manzanillo Filed August 1, 2007 | Issued August 30, 2007 Renewal of scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Houston, Texas, and Manzanillo, Mexico, and scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Houston, Texas, and Morelia, Mexico. Continental states that it will continue to serve both of these markets on a seasonal basis. Continental states that renewal of this authority will allow Continental to continue its own direct-carrier (own aircraft) large-aircraft service on the route, or shift to small-aircraft service by placing its code on the flights of ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., d/b/a Continental Express on these routes, so that capacity can be tailored to demand and service options are increased.
