United Air Lines, Inc. OST-03-16116 - US-Poland Codeshare with LOT September 8, 2003 Application for a Statement of Authorization United requests a statement of authorization to display LOT's "LO" designator code on flights operated by United (1) between any points in the United States and Poland (either nonstop or via third country points); (2) between any points in the United States in conjunction with services held out by LOT between Poland and the United States (either nonstop or via third country points); and (3) between any points in the United States or Poland and any points in any third country. United and LOT plan to commence code sharing on the city-pair routes listed in Appendix B hereto, on October 26, 2003. United already holds certificate or exemption authority to serve all of those points. LOT already holds authority to serve U.S. gateways at, a, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and is contemporaneously filing an exemption application to authorize it to serve any points in the U.S. beyond these gateways on a code-share basis. LOT's designator code will be displayed on a blind-sector basis for traffic moving between Poland and points behind Poland, on the one hand, and the U.S., on the other hand, via the European intermediate points listed above. These services are consistent with LOT's operating rights in Docket OST-03-16118 and with the U.S.-Poland bilateral air services agreement. This notice will be effective for services beginning on or after May 1, 2004, once both carriers have secured foreign government approvals.
