|
August 28, 2003 OST-03-16062 - Los Angeles-Mexico City Codeshare with Delta Air Lines Northwest seeks authority so it can provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Los Angeles and Mexico City by codesharing on flights operated by Delta in this city-pair market. Northwest intends to commence the proposed codesharing with Delta as soon as possible and asks that the Department grant Northwest exemption authority to enable Northwest to seek foreign authority and begin selling the service. Delta is currently serving the Los Angeles-Mexico City market. Counsel: Northwest, Megan Rae Rosia, 202-842-3193, mega.rosia@nwa.com OST-03-16062 - Los Angeles-Mexico City Filed August 28, 2003 | Issued Septembre 25, 2003 Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Los Angeles, California, and Mexico City, Mexico, and to combine this authority with all of Northwest's existing certificate and exemption authority to the extent consistent with U.S. bilateral agreements and Department policy. Northwest proposes to use the authority requested pursuant to a code-share arrangement with Delta Air Lines, Inc. (Delta), whereby Northwest will place its code on flights operated by Delta in the market. By: Paul Gretch OST-2003-16062 - Exemption - Los Angeles-Mexico City Codeshare with Delta Air Lines July 25, 2005 Application for Renewal of an Exemption Northwest was originally granted exemption authority to enable it to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Los Angeles and Mexico City by codesharing on flights operated by Delta by Notice of Action Taken dated September 25, 2003 effective through September 25, 2005. Northwest recently suspended code‑share service on this route when Delta terminated its flights and began code‑sharing on flights operated by Aeromexico, with whom Northwest does not presently have code‑share authority. Northwest nevertheless requests that its existing Los Angeles‑Mexico City exemption and codeshare designation be maintained so long as the available code‑share designations are not oversubscribed, to enable Northwest to promptly reenter this important market via codesharing with Delta or Aeromexico in the future. Northwest has pending before the Department in Docket OST-99-6319 since November 30, 2004 an application to amend its Route 564 U.S.-Mexico certificate to include the Los Angeles-Mexico City segment.
