US Airways, Inc.

OST-03-16061 - Exemption - US-St. Vincent and the Grenadines Codeshare with Caribbean Sun

August 28, 2003

Application for an Exemption

Hereby applies for a two-year exemption from 49 U.S.C. § 41101 and, to the extent necessary, a designation to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between a point or points in the United States and a point or points in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. US Airways plans to offer San Juan (Puerto Rico)-St. Vincent service pursuant to a codeshare agreement with Caribbean Sun Airlines, Inc., a U.S. carrier, beginning on or around December 13, 2003. US Airways further requests integration authority to combine this exemption authority with its other certificate and exemption authorities. While US Airways initially plans to offer codeshare service from San Juan to St. Vincent, it seeks the broad "all-points" authority to obviate the need for the Department to review multiple applications for this authority and to provide US Airways with the flexibility to commence new services to/from St. Vincent as market conditions warrant.
