OST-2003-15973 - Exemption - Hermosillo/Mexico City-Las Vegas August 18, 2003 Joint Application for Exemptions and Statements of Authorization Mexicana requests a statement of authorization permitting Mexicana to display Aeromexico's two-letter "AM" code on flights operated by Mexicana in the Mexico City-Las Vegas market. Mexicana already holds from the Department underlying authority to operate on this route .Mexicana also requests an exemption permitting it to serve Hermosillo-Las Vegas under a codeshare arrangement with Aeromexico. September 4, 2003 Compania Mexicana de Aviacion, S.A. de C.V. and Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. hereby request that the Department of Transportation approve their application to engage in codeshare operations on the Hermosillo-Las Vegas route, which is pending in the above-captioned docket. Specifically, the Joint Applicants request that the Department (i) grant Mexicana an exemption permitting Mexicana to conduct scheduled service between Hermosillo and Las Vegas pursuant to its codeshare with Aeromexico; and (ii) grant Aeromexico a statement of authorization permitting it to display Mexicana's designator code in the 1-lermosillo-Las Vegas market. The Joint Applicants request further that the Department defer action on the remaining portion of their application pertaining to codeshare service between Mexico City and Las Vegas pending receipt of the Mexican Government's codeshare authorization. September 22, 2003 Supplement Number One to Application Attached to this supplement is the Mexican DGAC's correspondence confirming that Aeromexico has been authorized to display its designator code on flights operated by Mexicana in the Mexico City-Las Vegas market. The Joint Applicants respectfully request that the Department approve the deferred portion of their pending application allowing them to engage in codeshare services between Mexico City and Las Vegas. The Joint Applicants have previously advised the Department that there are no objections to approval of their proposed codeshare. July 26, 2004 Application for Renewal of Exemption Mexicana holds exemption authority to operate scheduled services between Hermosillo, Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Mexicana is limited to operation of this service only under its codeshare arrangement with Aeromexico. The authority was granted by Notice of Action Taken, dated September 24, 2003. Aeromexico currently is offering multiple weekly Airbus nonstop round trip services in the Mexico City-Las Vegas market. Although Aeromexico currently is not offering nonstop services in the Mexico City-Las Vegas market, it desires to retain the authority so it may operate service when traffic conditions warrant.
