On January 8, 2002 the Bahamas MOT awarded Laker additional scheduled combination authority between Nassau on the one hand, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the other hand. Laker is seeking this exemption to enable it to provide scheduled combination service on a PIT-NAS-FPO-NAS-PIT routing (with no local NAS-FPO traffic). Laker proposes to operate the services described herein as soon as possible using B-727-200 equipment.
By Notice of Action Taken dated November 28, 2001 in Docket OST-97-3074, Laker was most recently granted renewal of exemption authority to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Freeport, Bahamas and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Hereby applies for renewal of its Exemption authorizing Laker to engage in scheduled combination air transportation between Nassau, Bahamas on the one hand, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the other hand, and to co-terminalize this authority with Laker's other U.S. - Bahamas scheduled authorities. Laker has been successfully operating U.S. - Bahamas scheduled combination and charter services using B-727-200 equipment on a variety of authorized routes since 1992. Laker continues to be fit, willing and able to operate the scheduled and charter services referred to herein.

Application for Renewal of Exemption Authority
By a Notice of Action Taken dated January 18, 2002, Laker was initially granted authority for one (1) year to conduct scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail on the route set out above and to co-terminalize these points with currently authorized U.S.-Bahamas service. By Notice of Action Taken dated February 9, 2004, this authority was most recently renewed for one (1) year, and is set to expire by its own terms February 9, 2005. Laker, therefore, requests that its authority to conduct scheduled combination service on this route be extended by a further year.
