Application for Renewal of Exemption

Alaska currently operates daily year round scheduled flights on the Los Angeles-Cancun route with B737-700 aircraft seating 120 passengers. The Department has found previously that Alaska's service in the Los Angeles-Cancun market is consistent with the terms of the U.S.-Mexico bilateral agreement.

Alaska requests renewal of this authority for a two-year period on its existing terms and conditions.

Renewal for two years of scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Los Angeles, California, and Cancun, Mexico.

Alaska also requested a waiver of the advance filing requirements of Part 377 of the Department’s regulations to keep the subject authority in effect under the provisions of the Administrative Procedure Act. We orally granted that request on May 29, 2007, and confirm that action here.
