Re: Application for Statement of Authorization

All-Cargo Charter Flights on Behalf of BWIA - Miami-Port of Spain/Barbados/St. Lucia

On behalf of TACA International Airlines ("TACA"), I am writing to request approval of the enclosed application for statement of authorization permitting TACA to operate three weekly roundtrip all-cargo charter flights between Miami and Port of Spain/Barbados/St. Lucia on behalf of BWIA International Trinidad & Tobago Airways Corporation. Service will begin on November 16, 1999, and will continue for a one-year period. TACA currently holds an exemption from the Department permitting it to operate all-cargo charter flights between the United States and third countries.

TACA apologizes for the short notice provided with this application. The parties only reached agreement on these charter flights within the past day and the information necessary to complete this application was assembled as soon thereafter as possible. TACA requests a waiver of the advance filing requirements that would otherwise apply to this application. TACA will conduct a telephone poll of all persons served with this application and will notify the Department promptly of the results of its poll. Filing fees have been waived for El Salvador.
