American Airlines, Inc.

OST-99-6085 August 9, 1999 Application for Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity US-Italy
    Service List

American Airlines, Inc., under 14 CFR 302.5, hereby applies for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to serve between the United States and Italy. American seeks authority to engage in foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between a point or points in the United States, directly and via intermediate points, and a point or points in Italy, and beyond.  American further requests authority to integrate the requested U-.S.-Italy authority with any other authority that American holds, by certificate or exemption, to provide scheduled foreign air transportation, consistent with applicable agreements between the United States and foreign countries.

OST-99-6085 September 7, 1999 Motion to Modify Scope and Answer of United Air Lines

Scanned Copy

U.S.- Italy
    Service List

United has no objection to the expeditious grant of American’s certificate application so long as United’s certificate amendment application is granted at the same time. Because the applicants each request authority of the same scope to support expanded operations in the U.S.-Italy market once the Open Skies agreement goes into effect, the public interest will be best served by the Department consolidating the applications and ruling on them promptly and contemporaneously.
