American Airlines, Inc. , under condition (c) of Department Action, November 2, 1999 (OST-99-5944), hereby gives notice that American will display Swissair's "SR" designator code on flights operated by American or American Eagle in the following additional city-pairs, effective April 2, 2000:

I am writing concerning Swissair's Notice of Additional Codesharing with American which was submitted herein on March 1, 2000. In particular, I wish to clarify that, with respect to the Geneva-Paris (CDG) city-pair, the parties do not contemplate codesharing on US-France traffic via Geneva. Rather, American will operate its own aircraft between the US and Paris as it is authorized to do under its DOT authority and connect there to a Swissair aircraft between Paris and Geneva which will carry the I1AAII code in addition to the "SRI' code. In other words, third country codesharing between the US and France is not involved.

While, looking at this from the US side of the Atlantic, we can understand that the notice -- by saying Geneva-Paris instead of Paris-Geneva -- could be perceived as indicating that the codeshare would serve Paris via Geneva; but that is not the case.

Swissair hereby withdraws its notice of additional codesharing filed herein on March 1, 2000 with respect to Zurich-Barcelona. This withdrawal of notice is without prejudice to filing a subsequent codesharing notice as to this city pair.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company Ltd. hereby gives notice that beginning on August 6, 2000, Swissair will commence display of the "AA11 designator code on flights operated by Swissair in the following city-pairs: Zurich-Atlanta, Zurich-Newark, Zurich-Los Angeles, Zurich-San Francisco and Zurich-Washington (IAD).

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action, OST-99-5944, November 2, 1999, hereby gives notice that beginning on July 26, 2000 Swissair will commence display of the "AA" designator code on flights operated by Swissair in the following city-pairs:

Pursuant to condition,-(2) of Department Action, OST99-5944, November 2, 1999, notice is hereby given that beginning no sooner than August 16, 2000 Swissair and/or its subsidiary Crossair AG will commence display of the "AA"1 designator code on flights operated by Swissair and/or Crossair in the following city-pairs: Zurich-Amsterdam, Zurich-Dusseldorf, Zurich-Frankfurt, Zurich-Graz, Zurich-Linz, Zurich-Lisbon, Zurich-Luxembourg, Zurich-Lyon, Zurich-Oporto, Zurich-Paris (CDG), Zurich-Salzburg, and Zurich-Stuttgart.

American Airlines, Inc., hereby gives notice that American will display Swissair's "SR" designator code on flights operated by American in two additional city-pairs, effective September 24, 2000: Miami-Cancun Miami-Mexico City.

American Airlines, Inc., under condition (c) of Department Action, November 2, 1999 (OST-99-5944), hereby gives notice that American will display Swissair's designator code on flights operated by American in the Miami-Lima, Peru city-pair, effective August 6, 2000.

Swissair will commence display of the "AA" designator code on flights operated by Swissair between Zurich and Kiev.

Hereby gives notice that they will display Swissair's "SR" designator code on flights operated by American Or American Eagle in the following additional city-pairs, effective November 1, 2000:

Swissair will commence display of the "AA” designator code on flights operated by Swissair between Zurich and Bucharest, Zurich and Cyprus and Zurich and Tbilisi. American currently holds authority to serve Bucharest by codesharing with Swissair and has applications pending in Dockets OST-00-7734 and OST-00-7736, respectively, to serve Larnaca and Tbilisi by codesharing with Swissair.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company, Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action, OST-99-5944, November 2, 1999, hereby gives notice that no sooner than thirty days from today, Swissair will commence display of the "AA” designator code on Swissair flights operated beyond Zurich to Paris. However, the parties will not codeshare on flights operated in the reverse direction, i.e., beyond Paris to Zurich.

United previously has filed a pending application for authority to operate third-country codeshare service to Georgia in conjunction with Austrian Airlines ("Austrian") via Austria, an open skies country, pursuant to a blanket statement of authorization previously issued by the Department (Docket OST-00-7750). That application is non-controversial and has not been opposed by any party. On September 12, 2000, United submitted an answer to American's application in which United argued that it would be unfair for the Department to authorize American to commence third-country codeshare service to Tbilisi before approving United's application for similar, competitive service. (United hereby is attaching a copy of that answer for inclusion in the above docket.)

United objects to American's application (and Swissair's related plans to place American's code on its Zurich-Tbilisi services) unless United's contemporaneous application is approved no later than American's. United's concerns are twofold. First, United is concerned that if the Department were to approve American's application before United's, American could implement third-country codeshare service to Georgia before United.

Swissair hereby amends its notice to state that it will display the AA code on Swissair flights operated in either direction between Zurich and Paris. In other words, the notice, as herein amended, encompasses third-country codesharing between the U.S. and France via Zurich.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company, Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action OST-99-5944, hereby gives notice that on March 1, 2001 or within 15 days after all governmental authorities are received, whichever is later, Swissair will commence display of the “AA” designator code on flights operated by Swissair between Zurich and Tel Aviv.

Hereby gives notice that on April 1, 2001 or within 15 days after all governmental authorities are received, whichever is later, Swissair will commence display of the "AA” designator code on flights operated by Swissair between Zurich and Istanbul and between Zurich and Izmir.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company, Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action OST-99-5944, hereby gives notice that no sooner than March 25, 2001 or within 15 days after all governmental authorities are received, whichever is later, (i) Swissair and/or its subsidiary Crossair AG will commence display of the "AA" designator code on flights operated by either between Zurich and Budapest and between Zurich and Hannover; and (ii) Crossair will commence display of the AA code on flights operated by it between Zurich and Munich and between Zurich and Nice.

Swissair previously gave notice (on April 14, 2000) of AA codeshare service on Swissair flights operated between the Zurich-Munich and Zurich-Nice city-pairs.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company, Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action OST-99-5944, hereby gives notice that beginning no sooner than April 15, 2001 or within 15 days after all governmental authorities are received, whichever is later, Swissair will commence display of the "AA” designator code on flights operated by Swissair between Zurich and Delhi and between Zurich and Mumbai, India.

Swissair, Swissair Transport Company, Ltd. pursuant to condition (2) of Department Action OST-99-5944, hereby gives notice that beginning no sooner than May 17, 2001 or within 15 days after all governmental authorities are received, whichever is later, Swissair will commence display of the "AA" designator code on flights operated by "Swissair between (a) Zurich and Moscow and (b) Zurich and St. Petersburg.

American Airlines, Inc., under condition (c) of Department Action, November 2, 1999 (OST--99-5944), hereby gives notice that it will display Swissair's designator code on flights operated by American in the following additional citypairs, effective no sooner than June 1, 2001:

American Airlines, Inc. hereby applies to amend its statements of authorization under 14 CFR Part 212 to engage in codesharing services with the foreign air carriers listed in the above caption' so as explicitly to include affiliates TWA Airlines LLC, American Eagle Airlines, Inc., and Executive Airlines, Inc. d/b/a American Eagle. This amendment would allow each affiliate to display the respective foreign carrier designator code on authorized domestic and transborder code-share routes' where service is operated by the affiliate. Effective December 2, 2001, TWA Airlines LLC will hold itself out to the traveling public as American Airlines. As of that date, the two-letter "TW" designator code will no longer be displayed, and all flights operated by TWA will be shown as "AA*" in computer reservations systems. American Eagle and Executive have long operated exclusively as "AA*."
