Trans World Express, operated by Trans States Airlines, provides three round trip nonstop weekday flights with 19 seat Jetstream 31 aircraft on weekdays between Quincy and St. Louis, a major hub for Trans World Airlines. The Trans World Express service operated by Trans States Airlines provides access to over 100 nonstop destinations served by Trans World Airlines and Trans World Express through the St. Louis hub. In addition, low fare nonstop flights operated by Southwest Airlines at St. Louis serve ten major destinations in the U.S. Slot constraints at Chicago-O'Hare International Airport limit Great Lakes Aviation's ability to provide United Express service that is competitive with the Trans World Express nonstop hub flights serving Quincy. Due to the limited O'Hare access, all United Express flights are scheduled on a one stop basis and revenue generated has not covered the costs of providing the service.

Essential Air Service at Quincy, Illinois / Hannibal, Missouri
| OST-99-5931 | November 22, 2002 | Notice of Termination of Service | Essential Air Service at Quincy, Illinois / Hannibal, Missouri |
Air Wisconsin decided to enter the Quincy/Hannibal-Chicago market in 2000 at a time when the United network was still expanding. United and Air Wisconsin made a commitment to serve the market for a two-year period in order to give it a fair chance to succeed. Unfortunately, one year into the trial period, the events of 9/11 forced United to act quickly and decisively to restructure its network in order to reduce its unprofitable operations. In the wake of 9/11, United and its commuter partners were forced to eliminate commuter services to several cities such as Mobile, AL, Bristol/Johnson City, VA/TN, Staunton, VA, Newport News, VA, Lynchburg, VA, Yakima, WA, Santa Rosa, CA, Bellingham, WA and others. At that time, United and Air Wisconsin also considered eliminating service to Quincy/Hannibal but, in view of their two-year commitment, the carriers decided to stay the course. In a further effort to find a service pattern that could succeed, Springfield was added as an intermediate stop for traffic support and, later CRJ equipment was substituted for turboprops. Unfortunately, even with this additional traffic support and equipment upgrade, the service continued to impose unacceptable losses on the United network at a time when it was required to curtail its unprofitable operations severely.
Trans States Airlines d/b/a American Connection also serves Quincy/Hannibal, operating multiple daily nonstop services between Quincy/Hannibal and St. Louis.
