Aeromexico will provide two weekly nonstop roundtrips with DC-9S aircraft between Villahermosa and Houston, in the Aguascalientes-Los Angeles market, Aeromexico will operate three weekly nonstop rounds trips with MID-83 aircraft during the peak summer season.

By this exemption request, Aeromexico seeks to renew its exemption authority to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Villahermosa and Houston, and between Aguascalientes and Los Angeles. The exemption was granted by Notice of Action Taken, dated June 8, 1999, and it is set to expire on June 8, 2000. Aeromexico currently is operating three nonstop round trips per week between Aguascalientes and Los Angeles with MD-80 equipment and it also carries the designator code of Delta Air Lines on these flights pursuant to a statement of authorization. Aeromexico wants to continue to provide this service and thus seeks renewal of its authority. Although Aeromexico currently is not serving the Villahermosa-Houston market on a nonstop basis, it desires to renew its authority so that service may be instituted when economic conditions warrant.

Application for Renewal of an Exemption

By Notice of Action Taken dated November 6, 2006, the Department renewed Aeromexico's exemption to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Aguascalientes, Mexico and Los Angeles, California. The exemption is scheduled to expire on November 6, 2007. Aeromexico currently offers nonstop service three times weekly with B-737 aircraft in this market. Thus, it seeks to renew the authority for another year.
