Mexicana requests authority from the Department to provide scheduled combination service between San Luis Potosi, Mexico and San Antonio, Texas. F lights will be operated initially by Transportes Aeromar ("Aeromar") under a codeshare agreement between the two carriers, utilizing Aeromar's ATR-42 aircraft configured to seat 48 passengers. Mexicana will place its two-letter designator code on Aeromar's scheduled San Luis Potosi-San Antonio flights. Mexicana will commence codeshare service on this route shortly after receiving authority from the Department of Transportation.' All codeshare flights will be marketed in accordance with the Department's policy statement on codesharing contained in 14 C.F.R. 399.88.

Hereby requests renewal of the exemption authority granted to it by the Department of Transportation in the above-captioned docket to perform scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between San Luis Potosi, Mexico and San Antonio, Texas. Mexicana requests renewal of this exemption for a one-year period on its existing terms and conditions. Mexicana relies upon the provisions of the Administrative Procedures Act and Part 377 of the Department's procedural regulations to continue its existing authorization in force pending a final decision on this renewal request.

Mexicana currently offers once weekly nonstop service in the San Luis Potosi-San Antonio market through a codeshare arrangement with Transportes Aeromar S.A. de C.V. Transportes Aeromar is the operating carrier and Mexicana is the codesharing carrier.

Mexicana holds authority in Docket OST‑1997‑2272 to operate scheduled combination services between Mexico City and Las Vegas, and currently operates frequent service between the two cities. In accordance with its exemption in Docket OST‑1999‑5006, Mexicana also offers twice‑weekly service between San Luis PotosI and San Antonio under its codeshare agreement with Transportes Aeromar by placing the MX* designator code on flights operated by Aeromar.
