Order

The agreement revises existing resolutions relating to the issuance of passenger travel documents as a result of the anticipated introduction of the euro as the currency for countries in the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). The euro will be introduced in EMU countries over a transition period beginning January 1, 1999 and ending July 1, 2002. During this transition period, prices to consumers in EMU countries may be quoted in either Euros or the national currency. The new procedures permit the use of either euros or the relevant national currency on documents issued for travel commencing in EMU countries during this transition period.
