Application for an Exemption

By this exemption request, Aeromexico seeks authority to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Monterrey, Mexico, and Austin, Texas. The service initially will consist of one daily round trip and one round trip to be operated six days a week. Initially, the service will be operated with Metro III aircraft under a wet lease arrangement with Aerolitoral, S.A. de C.V. ("Aerolitoral"), an affiliate of Aeromexico. Contemporaneously herewith, Aerolitoral is filing an application for a Statement of Authorization for the wet lease arrangement.

Application for Renewal of Exemption Authority

Monterrey, Mexico-Austin, Texas

By this application, Aeromexico seeks renewal of its exemption authority to provide scheduled, combination service between Monterrey, Mexico and Austin, Texas. This authority was granted by Notice of Action Taken, dated March 4, 1998. Aeromexico currently is not serving the Monterrey-Austin market; however, should it decide to provide service based on favorable market conditions, passengers and shippers would benefit from Aeromexico's nonstop service. In addition, U.S. travelers and shippers will have access to numerous Mexican destinations through Aeromexico's Monterrey gateway.
