Pan American World Airways, Inc. ("Pan Am") requests renewal of its exemption authority and statement of authorization granted by Notice of Action Taken in Docket 97-2072, dated March 5, 1997, and confirmed in Order 97-3-35, which permits it to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between New York, New York, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and to carry the code of APA International, S.A. ("APA"). Pan Am requests that the exemption be renewed for an additional period of two years. By this application, Pan Am intends to invoke the automatic extension provisions of 5 U.S.C. § 558(c) and Part 377 of the Department's Special Regulations.

Pan Am intends to operate this service pursuant to a code-share arrangement with APA International Air, S.A.

Renew Statement of Authorization under 14 CF2 Part 207for two years to: Permit Pan Am to carry the code of APA on its flights between New York and Santo Domingo
