Aeromexico currently is offering daily DC-9 nonstop service, and Metro III service six days a week under a wetlease arrangement with its affiliated company, Aerolitoral, S.A. de C.V., an arrangement which has been approved by the Department. The service is providing significant service benefits to the traveling public. Although Aeromexico currently is not serving the Tijuana-Phoenix market, it desires to retain the authority so that it can institute direct service when economic conditions warrant.

By this application, Aeromexico seeks renewal of its exemption authority to provide service between Hermosillo and Phoenix. The authority was granted by Notice of Action Taken, dated February 13, 2007, and currently is set to expire on February 13, 2008. Aeromexico currently is serving the market with daily nonstop service with regional jet aircraft. The response to the service has been satisfactory and Aeromexico wants to continue the service for another year.

Aeromexico serves this route with aircraft wet leased from Aerolitoral, S.A. de C.V., which operation was approved on June 13, 2007, in Case 2007-272.
