Joint Application for Wet-Lease
By application dated April 16, 2008 Iberworld Airlines, SA requested a Statement of Authorization to the extent necessary to enable it to operate up to five weekly round-trip wet-lease flights using A-330 equipment for XL Airways UK Limited between Manchester, UK/Glasgow, UK-Orlando (Sanford), Florida-Manchester, UK during the period May 1 to June 7, 2008, either non-stop or via Cardiff, UK. That application was granted April 18, 2008.
XL and Iberworld are now requesting additional authorization to the extent necessary to enable Iberworld to operate one additional one-way wet lease flight for XL using A-330 equipment from Rome (FCO) to Miami on May 19, 2008. More specifically, XL is requesting authorization pursuant to § 212.9(b)(1) of the Department's Regulations to enable it to provide service from Rome to Miami and Iberworld is requesting a statement of authorization pursuant to § 212.9(b)(1) to operate that service for XL. The flight for which these authorities are being requested will transport cruise passengers back to the United States.
