American International Airways, Inc. and Aerolineas Argentinas 97-67 | August 29, 1997 | Approved September 12, 1997 for 9/12/97-9/12/98 Re: Application for Long-Term Wet Lease to Aerolineas Argentinas The contract provides for the lease of one cargo-configured B747-200 aircraft together with crew, maintenance, and insurance to be used by Aerolineas in scheduled all-cargo service between Argentina and the United States, as well as between Argentina and other countries in the region. Aerolineas will operate the flights on routes authorized in the U.S. Argentina Air Transport Services Agreement of 1985, as amended, including Buenos Aires - Lima - Los Angeles - Port of Spain - Buenos Aires. AIA requests grant of this authority as soon as possible since Aerolineas has an immediate need for the lift, and the implementation of a formal agreement requires the Department's approval.
