2007-400 | Filed August 15, 2007 | Approved September 7, 2007 Long-Term Wet-Lease for Saudia By application dated March 30, 2007, Air Atlanta Icelandic requested continued authorization to operate a series of long-term wet lease cargo flights for Saudi Arabian Airlines, encompassing two weekly frequencies over the routing Jeddah-Ostend-New York-Ostend-Jeddah, and one weekly frequency over the routing Jeddah-Ostend-New York-Houston-Ostend-Dammam-Jeddah, during the period June 1, 2007-November 30, 2007. That application was granted on April 25, 2007. Saudia has now requested Air Atlanta to operate slightly revised routings beginning September 4, 2007: one weekly frequency over the routing Jeddah-Brussels-New York-Brussels-Riyadh-Jeddah and two weekly frequencies over the routing Jeddah-Brussels-New York-Houston-Brussels-Dammam-Jeddah. The service will'continue to be operated with B-747 equipment. By this application, Air Atlanta is requesting modification of its existing authorization to the extent necessary to operate the revised routings requested by Saudia. Air Atlanta is also requesting renewal of its existing authorization through May 31, 2008 and further requesting that its extended authority include flexibility to serve BRU as well as OST as intermediate airports. Cielos requests expedited action on this request and will poll the U.S. airlines on the service list and report the results to the Department. Consequently, Cielos requests a waiver of the 45-day notice requirement. Cielos currently is operating wet lease services for TAB pursuant to various Department approvals dating from January 6, 2006.
