That application was granted on June 19, 2006 and remains effective through June 19, 2007. On September 12, 2006, Air Atlanta applied for modification of that authority to enable it to serve Anchorage as a traffic stop in conjunction with its Shanghai-Anchorage-Los Angeles cargo service for Yangtze River. That modification was approved on November 3, 2006. Air Atlanta is now requesting renewal of its existing authorization to enable it to continue to operate this service for an additional one-year period, through June 2008. The service will continue to be operated with B-747 equipment. Grant of this request is necessary to enable Yangtze River to continue to provide scheduled cargo service to the United States and is consistent with the terms of the Air Transport Service Agreement between the United States and Iceland and with the US-China Civil Air Transport Agreement. Pursuant to Part 377 of the Department's regulations, Air Atlanta Icelandic hereby states its intention to rely upon the automatic renewal provisions of 5 USC 558 (c) to continue its existing authorization in effect pending in effect pending final DOT action on this renewal application.
