The requested authority is required to enable British Airways to offer one one-way flight from Prestwick to Salt Lake City via Chicago on August 5, 2006. That flight will be operated in conjunction with regularly scheduled flight BA3577 which operates between Prestwick and Chicago.' Accordingly, this application requests only the extremely limited authorization to extend an already authorized Prestwick-Chicago cargo flight beyond Chicago to Salt Lake City. The purpose of the flight is to transport the JCB Dieselmax streamliner to Salt Lake City. The Dieselmax is an experimental diesel vehicle powered by two 750 horsepower JCB 444 diesel engines. The Dieselmax is being transported to Salt Lake City to enable it to participate in Speedweek at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The Dieselmax will be driven by Wing Commander Andy Green who, along with the JCB team, will attempt to establish a new diesel land speed record.
