2006-223 | Filed July 11, 2006 | Aproved July 13, 2006 Application for Renewal and Extension of Wet-Lease By application dated February 21, 2006, Air Atlanta Icelandic requested authorization to operate thirty wet-lease Luxemburg-Boston-Huntsville cargo flights on behalf of Cargolux Airlines International using B-747 equipment between March 5 and September 24, 2006. That application was granted on February 28, 2006 (2006-063). Cargolux has now requested Air Atlanta to operate a revised routing - Luxemburg-Denver-Luxemburg - for one cargo flight scheduled for July 17, 2006. For that reason, Air Atlanta is requesting authorization, to the extent necessary, to substitute one Luxemburg-DenverLuxemburg operation for one of the thirty Luxemburg-Boston-Huntsville-Luxemburg operations already approved. Air Atlanta further requests additional authority, to the extent necessary, to revise future cargo routings, at the request of Cargolux, subject to Cargolux's DOT route authority, and subject to the thirty operation allotment granted on February 28, 2006. The route flexibility requested here would be consistent with the terms of the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and Iceland as well as the terms of the Air Transport Services Agreement between the United States and Luxemburg. Finally, Air Atlanta requests renewal of its existing authority to enable it to operate an additional 26 Luxemburg-Boston-Huntsville-Luxemburg flights (one per week) using B-747 equipment from September 24, 2006, through March 31, 2007. Air Atlanta also requests route flexibility as described above for the additional 26 flights. Pursuant to Part 377 of the Department's regulations, Air Atlanta hereby states its intention to rely upon the automatic renewal provisions of 5 USC § 558(c) to continue its existing authority in effect pending final DOT action on this renewal application.
