Application for a Long-Term Wet Lease - Santa Barbara Airlines

Southern Air, Inc. ("Southern") requests a Statement of Authorization for an indefinite period pursuant to Part 212 of the Department’s Regulations permitting Southern to wet lease B-747 aircraft to Santa Barbara Airlines, CA ("Santa Barbara") on a long-term basis between the U.S. and Venezuela. Southern intends to operate the wet-lease fights for Santa Barbara starting on January l5, 2002, enabling Santa Barbara to provide U.S.-Venezuela all-cargo service for charter customers. Southern requests a waiver of the 45-day notice requirement to the extent necessary to begin the proposed wet-lease service on January 15, 2002.
