Re: Answer of Continental Airlines and Air Aruba
Continental and Air Aruba reply to the answers of Aeropostal and United and urge the Department to approve the joint ContinentallAir Aruba application for U.S./Canada-Aruba code-sharing immediately.Aeropostal says the Department should not approve the joint application since Air Aruba is owned by ASERCA. No party except Aeropostal has objected to the proposed Continental/Air Aruba code-share service between the U.S. and Canada and Aruba. This service is clearly in the public interest, consistent with the U.S.-Aruba open-skies bilateral aviation agreement and unrelated to the issues raised by Aeropostal. Continental and Air Aruba already hold the underlying authority to conduct this code-share service, and the Department has previously approved U.S -Aruba code-sharing.Continental also urges the Department to resolve the outstanding code-share issues with Venezuela as soon as possible to enable Continental to begin codesharing between the U.S. and Venezuela. Continental does not oppose any other U.S.-Venezuela code-share application so long as the Department approves Continental's proposed code-share services between the U.S. and Venezuela.
