Re: Joint Application for Statement of
Authorization for Code-Share/Blocked Space Service
The Carriers seek authorization for Canadian to display its designator code and to block space on Air Pacific flights between Nadi, Fiji and Honolulu, and for Air Pacific to display its designator code and to block space on Canadian flights between Honolulu and Vancouver and between Honolulu and Toronto. The carriers plan to commence the service on October 26, 1997, when Air Pacific will begin weekly non-stop service between Nadi and Honolulu.

Re: Letter from DOT to Counsel
Today the Department granted the request of TAESA to continue to wet-lease DC-10 equipment to STAF, through October 18, 1997, and deferred action on TAESAs request to continue this wet-lease beyond 10/18/97, that is, through 4/26/97. Under this Statement of Authorization, TAESA may continue to wet lease the DC-10 equipment to STAF for STAF's all-cargo operations between Argentina and Miami, with service via the two optional intermediate points Sao Paulo/Rio de Janeiro.
(Note: On August 15, 1997, STAF filed a request for a Statement of Authorization under Part 212 to conduct a total of 100 all-cargo roundtrips, over the routings Miami-Buenos Aires-Santiago-Miami and Miami-Santiago-Miami, during the period 8/18/97-2/28/98, on behalf of "Various" charterers. The flights are to be operated by equipment wet leased from TAESA. We have asked STAF to provide us with the names of the charterers and the results of the phone poll in this matter. This application is pending.)
